Throughout October, November and December, A New Path to the Waterfall hosts artist and curator Elisa Ferrari who will be guiding the grade 6/7 class through a series of sonic explorations including soundwalks, field recordings, graphic scoring and a trip to UBC that will give students the opportunity to experience an anechoic chamber.
Ferrari and the students will work together to create the sound of a cactus being touched by a raindrop*, a series of sound collages based on these explorations that will be presented on December 14th in the classroom.
*The title comes from student Aisha O’Sullivan’s description of an imaginary sound.
